Literature Text

The burning touch of icy water washes it away
I turn the water off and my head begins to sway
I scream but do not notice, throw up but do not care
There's nothing here to lean on, my rocks no longer there
I'm guilty and regretful, yet angry and detached
I can barely come to terms that from me you were snatched
Let alone that I'm the one...that I-I'm the one w-who
The one who stole the life from you
Your warm blood seems to stain me, the water didn't work
What was I supposed to do you freaking went berserk
Half open eyes that stare at me, a lump with milky skin
I loved you but I also knew the monster who lived within
You weren't a brewing psychopath or a violent drunk
On most every day you were as gentle as a monk
But in you lying dormant was something so surreal
This horrid blood thirsty beast waiting on its heel
I'm not being colorful, nor stretching out the truth
Don't think they aren't real, just because we find no proof
This thing wasn't human, and I'll pretend it wasn't you
Though I will always know exactly who I slew
